Lakes and ponds abound on farms in Virginia. They attract and house a diverse range of animals, birds, and insects. Best of all, after a hard day in the garden, a long hike, or a scenic bike ride, a jump in the lake cools like nothing else.

We have had our share of problems with our farm’s beavers. They are extremely destructive blocking up the dam’s outflow and cutting down trees. However, as in real life, we all have to find ways to live together!
